Delta Airlines to begin Bellingham Service
3/6/2006
Delta Air Lines will offer customers even more choices for travel to and from the airline's growing Salt Lake City hub with the addition of seven new non-stop destinations effective June 8. The new destinations -- which will be the only non-stop service offered between Salt Lake City and any of the cities-- includes Bellingham, Washington.
Salt Lake City is Delta's third-largest hub and with Delta's increased presence, has become the second-largest hub in the entire Western region. Travelers can connect to 108 cities from Salt Lake City.
Delta's new service to Bellingham will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest using a 50 passenger Bombardier CRJ-200 Regional Jet. Two flights a day will fly from Bellingham to Salt Lake, departing from Bellingham at 6:25 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. Flights will return to Bellingham, departing Salt Lake City at 11:15 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. arriving in Bellingham at 12:25 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.
To celebrate its newest routes, for a limited time Delta is offering special introductory airfares for travel via Salt Lake City to or from any of the hub's seven new destinations, including Bellingham. Tickets must be purchased by March 21, 2006. The special rate to and from Bellingham is $99.00 based on a roundtrip purchase (Additional taxes/fees/restrictions apply. Fares shown are available only for purchase on delta.com or from a travel agent).
"Having this service to Salt Lake City will open a new world of visitor and meeting markets for us, not only in Utah, but for all the connecting cities Delta serves,” said Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism President and CEO John Cooper. “In the past we focused largely North and South for visitors: now we can look to the East."
