The Clark County Event Center Celebrates Milestones


Ridgefield, WA – Its been a busy year for the Clark County Event Center at the
Fairgrounds along with the new Exhibition Hall which opened to rave reviews one year
ago (March 2005). The Event Center (now the official name for the entire complex) is
gaining interest from the region’s promoters, event planners and meeting coordinators.

Some Facts and Figures
- The new Exhibition Hall attracted more than 400,000 people in the first twelve
months of operation.
- 12 new shows were booked at the Clark County Event Center because of the new
facility.
- All of the largest new events booked into the Exhibition Hall in its first operating
year have already committed to returning.
- Promoters are enthusiastic with the preliminary successes of their Clark County
events and the public response.
- Existing clients like the Home & Garden Idea Fair, Vancouver Kennel Club Dog
Show appreciate the increased comfort and flexibility the Exhibition Hall
provides for their events and patrons.
- More than $700,000 in media placement money was spent by event and show
planners in 2005 and 1st quarter 2006 for promotion.
- Upgrades to the Exhibition Hall have already taken place – new acoustics have
dramatically increased sound quality – attracting activities like assemblies,
services, meetings and seminars.
- In 2006 the Event Center will host over 70 different events that represent over 210
event days.
- The Event Center continues to host the very successful 10-day Clark County Fair
on August 4-13 this year.

Over the course of 2005 and the first months of 2006 numerous new events took place in
the Exhibition Hall at the Clark County Event Center:

- Northwest RV Show
- Clark County RV Show
- Petersen Collectible Car Auctions
- Great American Train Show
- Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival
- Holiday Food & Gift Show
- America’s Largest Antique & Collectible Shows
- Clark County Home & Garden Show
- The Mane Event Equestrian Exposition


The Event Center grounds and new Exhibition Hall have been used extensively by local
law enforcement and fire districts for emergency preparedness training and exercises.
Groups that have utilized the grounds include:
- SWAT
- Fire District 6 (volunteer and R.I.T. training)
- Clark County Sheriff (cadet training)
- Portland Mounted Police (riot preparedness)
Why all the interest in the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds?
- Brand new state-of-the-art building
- 27 million people drive by the facility each year on I-5
- Clark County is Washington’s fastest growing county
- Clark County will grow by another 40% in the next fifteen years
- Entertainment options are now local (not in Portland)
- 7,500 parking spaces – more than any other major event site in the area
- Familiar site – Clark County Fair has been utilizing the grounds for over 5 decades

The Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds is an established 170 acre campus with five
multi-purpose facilities that host a wide variety of events each year. The new Exhibition Hall,
completed in March of 2005, features 97,200 square feet of unobstructed show space. Additional
facilities on grounds include an Equestrian Arena, The Grandstands, a collection of Livestock
