GREAT WOLF LODGE
GRAND MOUND, WASH., November 8, 2007 – In just a few short months, guests to the new Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Wash. will be able to trade in their raincoats for a swimsuit and head inside. (That is right – inside!)
When inclement weather arises, Bear Track Landing™ indoor waterpark will provide guests a 60,000 square-foot, 84-degree haven year-round. Great Wolf Lodge will offer fun for guests of all ages with six waterslides, an innovative extreme tube ride, three pools, an indoor/outdoor hot tub and sun deck, and an interactive treehouse waterfort.
Dubbed Howlin’ Tornado™, the six-story red and yellow funnel seen from I-5, is an extreme 65-foot funnel ride that will drop thrill-seekers a heart-pounding 30 feet every second. Families will climb aboard a two- or four-person tube for the ride of a lifetime as the tube safely drops six stories, swirling riders back and forth before dropping into the mouth of the funnel and splashing into the pool below.
The waterpark’s signature attraction, Fort Mackenzie™, will offer plenty of opportunities for exploratory water fun. The interactive treehouse waterfort will combine 12 levels of water-based adventure connected by suspension bridges, cargo nets and web crawls that can be sprayed and squirted with more than 60 guest-activated water effects. Guests will gather at the bottom of Fort Mackenzie in anticipation for its biggest thrill: the bucket-dumping waterfall of nearly 1,000 gallons, drenching everything, and everyone, in its path.
Since the waterpark will be offered exclusively to Great Wolf Lodge guests, the resort will be free of the long lines and crowded atmosphere usually found at the average outdoor waterpark. Guests can feel comfortable and safe as more than 100 lifeguards, each nationally certified by Ellis & Associates, the world-leading aquatic safety training company, will provide personalized attention.
Once complete, Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound will be a first-class, full-service, family destination resort. Serving as Washington’s Year-Round Family Resort™, Great Wolf Lodge will provide a comprehensive package of family entertainment and lodging amenities including: 398 all-suite guest rooms; a 78,000 square-foot indoor entertainment area which will feature the state of Washington’s largest indoor waterpark; 30,000 square-foot conference center; two themed family restaurants, Camp Critter Bar & Grille™ and The Loose Moose Cottage™; Bear Claw Café™ ; Pizza Hut Express®; Starbucks® Coffee Shop; a spa featuring Aveda® products; Scooops™ Kid Spa featuring ice cream-themed products; Cub Club™, a children’s craft and activity room focusing on “edutainment;” Northern Lights™ Arcade with ticket redemption; a tech center with Internet stations and movie and musical entertainment; Iron Horse™ Fitness Center; an animated Great Clock Tower; Buckhorn Exchange™ gift emporium; indoor/outdoor hot tub and sun deck; and more!
