Skagit Valley Casino Resort plans 41-boutique luxury hotel for summer 2006 opening
New hotel expands resort’s range of premium accommodations and meeting space
BOW—Skagit Valley Casino Resort (The Skagit) will expand its range of accommodations and meeting capabilities with the addition of a new 41-unit boutique hotel scheduled to open late July 2006. With easy access to nearby Interstate 5, The Skagit Ridge Hotel will be just across the street from The Skagit’s existing casino resort.
The Skagit entertainment complex is located off Interstate 5 at Exit 236 ( Bow Hill Road), five minutes north of Mount Vernon.
With scenic views of Mount Baker, the North Cascades and the Skagit Valley, The Skagit Ridge Hotel will offer a private setting for individuals, meetings, weddings, tour groups and other group gatherings. Featuring luxurious appointments throughout, the new property will include 40 deluxe rooms, one executive suite and a “great room” lobby with a two-story stone fireplace.
With more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space, the new property will have its own signature meeting spaces offering sweeping views of the area, including the “The Ridge Boardroom” and “The Ridge Courtyard & Terrace.” The Ridge Courtyard will seat 70 to 100 for indoor/outdoor group functions. The Ridge Boardroom, located on the hotel’s third level, will accommodate groups up to 80 people, and will feature an expanse of windows overlooking the North Cascades, Mount Baker and the valley below.
Upon completion of The Skagit Ridge Hotel, The Skagit entertainment complex will offer a combined total of 144 deluxe rooms and suites and more than 18,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
Guests at the new hotel will have access to the full-range of privileges that are available at the adjacent casino resort, including use of the glass-enclosed, heated, indoor swimming pool (under a retractable roof), dry sauna, fitness room and hot tub. The hotel will offer 24-hour shuttle service to the casino resort and will serve a daily continental breakfast.
“The addition of The Skagit Ridge Hotel expands our range of premium accommodations, which enables us to meet the growing demand by individuals and groups,” said Don Guglielmino, corporate general manager for The Skagit. “This gives our guests and meeting planners more flexibility and choices, and introduces the first phase of a multi-stand development plan for The Skagit.”
Guests will also have access to the resort’s 64,000-square foot Las-Vegas-style casino, top name entertainment in the Pacific Showroom, dining in three restaurants, and live entertainment, karaoke and closed-circuit sporting events in Winners Lounge.
The Skagit is also affiliated with the AAA Four-Diamond Semiahmoo Resort, including its two highly-rated “public play” golf courses and European-style spa featuring anti-aging skincare treatments. As “Washington’s Premier Resort Group,” the two resorts offer guests an unparalleled combination of premium lodging, meeting and conference facilities, golf, spa amenities, entertainment and gaming in the Pacific Northwest.
The resort's enviable location provides an excellent home base for day trips that could include hiking, kayaking, observing bald eagles along the Skagit River or perhaps taking a ferryboat ride on Puget Sound to the emerald isles of the San Juan archipelago. Seasonal attractions, such as the colorful Skagit Valley Tulip Festival each spring, also await. Shopping is available at nearby outlet mall stores and shopping centers or in quaint small towns scattered throughout the region.
